Introductory News Release
PHYSICIAN AND CHURCH CUSTODIAN ARE ON THE BALLOT FOR GOVERNOR AND LT. GOVERNOR. THEY WANT TO DIVIDE ILLINOIS UP INTO THREE NEW STATES. ALSO CLAIM THAT THE PRIMARY IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING RIGGED.
Berwyn, IL, December 14, 2017: Dr. Robert Marshall filed 10,500 signatures on December 4 and there is no objection to his petitions as of December 11 and therefore he and Mr. Dennis Cole of Westchester are on the Illinois ballot for Governor and Lt. Governor.
Dr. Robert Marshall ran for U.S. Senate in 2010 in the Democratic Primary and got 52,000 votes. He ran for Congress in the 6th District in 2016 and got 33% or 23,000 votes in Peter Roskam's district.
His running mate is Mr. Dennis Cole of Westchester. He is an African American man in his early 60's who is the father of five girls. He is a custodian at a local Lutheran church. He has also been active in all three of Dr. Marshall's campaigns.
Dr. Marshall's platform for the upcoming primary is:
- Oppose State of Illinois graduated income tax.
- Oppose any further increase in flat income tax. The recent 33% increase in Illinois income tax should be made temporary rather than permanent.
- Legalize marijuana throughout the State of Illinois and also allow casino gambling in Chicago.
- Divide Illinois up into 3 new independent states.
These states should be:
2. The suburbs surrounding Chicago
3. The rest of Illinois outside of the western suburbs.
Each state would be a separate new state with its own Governor, two Senators, its own Constitution and new laws. The State of West Virginia did this in the early 1860's separating itself from the State of Virginia and Dr. Marshall is proposing the same thing for the State of Illinois.
The advantages for this division are overwhelming. Each state would have more political power in Washington and in the Electoral College in electing the President. Each state would have autonomy or self control and could enact new laws which would benefit each new state. For example, this would include legalizing marijuana in Chicago, allowing casino gambling in Chicago and several progressive laws in various parts of the state.
Dr. Marshall feels that the upcoming primary is in the process of being rigged against him and his running mate. He has been excluded from at least four debates in the Chicagoland area. These debates include:
- Chicago Teachers Union Channel 7 debate
- Lake County Teachers Union Channel 5 debate
- University of Aurora debate
- Recent LGBT debate in Chicago
All of the candidates invited to these debates are in favor of the graduated income tax plus several other programs which would result in further increases in local and state taxes and Dr. Marshall is opposed to all of these programs. By excluding him from the debates the upcoming primary is being rigged in favor of increased taxes for the average taxpayer of Illinois.
